The C5-2C starter is designed for electric start of the engine and is designed for short-term operation from storage batteries.
The starter is installed in the engine block crankcase and is secured with two semi-yokes. From turning around its axis, the starter is locked by a pin pressed into the stock.
In relation to the flywheel ring gear, the starter is installed so that the gap between the ends of the flywheel and the starter gear (in the off state) is 3-4.5 mm.
Marks are provided on the starter body and on the end of its bed to control the end clearance during engine operation.
